EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY

“Exercise is medicine.”

At AllCare, Exercise Physiology services are available with an Accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist. If you want to know more, see the information as listed below, or navigate to our team page.

What is an Exercise Physiologist (EP)?

Exercise Physiologists are university-qualified allied health professionals. They specialise in designing, delivering and managing safe and effective exercise interventions for people with chronic conditions, injuries or disabilities, as well as create exercise programs for the general population.

Who can see an EP?

An Exercise Physiologist creates tailored, evidence-based programs to support you and your individual goals. Whether you would like advice or ongoing treatment for a chronic condition/s, assistance with injury recovery, or help with exercising for long-term health.

Conditions an EP can help with

Musculoskeletal injury | Neurological conditions | Cardiovascular disease | Chronic pain | Disability / NDIS | Osteoporosis or osteopenia | Arthritis | Spinal cord injury | Mental health | Cancer recovery | Metabolic conditions | Falls risk | Hypermobility | Chronic fatigue

+ more!

What services can an EP provide?

At AllCare, Exercise Physiology can be used for multiple different services, depending on your condition/injury, ability, and most importantly your goals. An initial assessment is the first step, where we get to know you, understand your background and medical history, and your current function.

The main services available with EP are listed below:

- Regular / ongoing bookings for exercise rehabilitation sessions

- Individualised Exercise Programs (home or gym use)

- Classes (see classes page for more info)

EXERCISE CLASSES

Below are our current classes that we run at AllCare Physiotherapy. All classes are fully supervised by either a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist.

If you are interested in joining any of these classes or would like further information, please book online or contact reception on (03) 6224 9777.

Osteopenia / Osteoporosis

ONERO Academy

ONEROTM is an effective, evidence-based treatment based on an exercise format specifically designed to prevent osteoporotic fracture, by stimulating bone development and preventing falls in at-risk individuals with low bone density. The class is supervised by a qualified practitioner (Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist) who have completed additional ONEROTM training.

“When it comes to bones, we know exercise can benefit people throughout their life - by growing bigger stronger bones in childhood, improving bones throughout adulthood and preventing falls that can lead to fracture as we age."

- Professor Belinda Beck (Director, ‘The Bone Clinic’ & ONEROTM founder)

Backed up by peer-reviewed, published research, ONEROTM is delivered in a supervised environment with exercise loads carefully matched to the skills and capacity of the individual.
